Class Behavior

Unruly students will be suspended from coming to class until further notice, but required to continue to do their assignments at home.

 

Homework

Daily homework practice is part of the Kumon philosophy. This activity is planned by the Instructor and depending on the level and the student skills should take 15 to 20 minutes per day, per subject.

 

Home Grading

Home-grading your student's work is mandatory. Your student will progress faster when he/she receives immediate feedback on his/her assignments.

 

Class Attendance

Students are required to attend 2 classes per week at their designated day & time.

 

Vacations

Parents must submit the Vacation Notification form when taking a

vacation with work. The form must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance.

 

Absences

Absences are allowed for 1 month during a claendar yaer. Parents must submit the Absence Notification form when taking an Absence.

 

Withdrawals

A 30-day advance notification is required for "withdrawals" from the program. Parents must submit the Withdrawal Notification form.

Class Routine

All students: a) check-in at the front desk, b) are assigned to a station, c) do class-work, corrections, drills, and when they have successfully completed their current level, they are given a test in order to measure their mastery level. All students meet with the Instructor for feedback to assess their current work-load, learning material, answer any questions.

 

Students must complete all their work before leaving the Center. The duration of the class routine is about 30 to 40 minutes per subject.

 

Early Release

We understand that from time to time, the student may need to leave early before completing all his/her class-work assignments. However, in order to do so, the student needs to provide a "parent authorization" note or the parent needs to call the center to inform us of the early departure.

 

Center Closings

The Kumon Calendar adheres to the Gilbert Public School District calendar (closing days only). The calendar is provided upon enrollment and it is available in this website.
